Christina Armutlieva is Director of International Cooperation and institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator at Varna University of Management, Bulgaria (VUM). She holds a master degree in Hungarian Language and Literature and in Finno-Ugrian Linguistics. Prior to joining VUM, Christina had worked for six years as a lecturer in Sociolinguistics at her alma mater, the University of Debrecen, Hungary.

Since becoming a VUM team member in 2008, Christina has been in charge of VUM internationalization policies’ coordination and implementation. She has led a number of multilateral academic projects aiming to boost VUM innovation through international cooperation and international peer learning. Since 2015, Christina has been in charge of six projects under the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme involving over 40 universities in more than 20 countries worldwide. She was also the project coordinator of the Leading and Managing Change in Higher Education (La MANCHE) Tempus IV project (2012-2015).

Currently, Christina is the project coordinator of the Erasmus+ CBHE project Building Entrepreneurial Ecosystems to Enhance Higher Education Value-Added for Better Graduate Employability (BEEHIVE; 2016-2019). BEEHIVE involves universities in Indonesia and the Philippines and aims to further their evolvement into entrepreneurial universities and to develop their students’ entrepreneurial skills and innovation capacities.
