Dr. Petar Nikolov has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Political Management from the University of Sofia ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’. He was awarded a PhD in History from the New Bulgarian University. Since 2010 he is a chief assistant in the Department of Political Science at New Bulgarian University. From 2015 to 2017 he is editor-in-chief of Conservative Quarterly, a theoretical magazine for politics and culture. In the period 2014-2017 he served as a Parliamentary Secretary of the Council of Ministers in the second government with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
The scientific interests of Dr. Petar Nikolov are focused mainly on medieval Bulgarian history, political philosophy, and the history of political ideas. He is the author of four monographs: The Genesis of the Bulgarian Conservatism (2011), The Sratsimir’s Dynasty (2012), The True Story of the Principality of Vidin (2014), and The Political Conservatism (2017, in co-authorship with Ms Irena Todorova, PhD).
